Cider Festival 19th-23rd October 2011

We will be featuring 12 ciders and 3 perries from around the country and hope you can join us here to celebrate the diversity and quality produced by our cider makers.

As part of our Derbyshire Beer Festival weekend, we’ve a great line-up of live entertainment

Thursday – Majestic Brass: 7pm
Majestic Brass are a legend at The Bricklayer’s Arms. They started drinking here in 2005 when they were young, impressionable music students. They naively approached the bar to ask if they could perform a brass band celebration of Christmas carols in return for a few beers…they never escaped…

Friday – The John Ongom Big Band: 8pm
We make no apologies. The John Ongom Big Band does exactly what it says on the tin. They are Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and Harold Arlen all rolled into one – a spectacular evening.

Saturday – The World Famous Hammersmith Morris Men: 1pm ish
You may have clocked this motley crew at the Thames Festival last week. They truly are Morris Men Super Heroes. A few of their members were in last night singing rarely heard folk songs at the back table, they had the whole pub cheering by 10pm, it was lovely.

We are delighted to announce the dates of our Yorkshire Beer Festival

Wednesday 23rd February – Sunday 27th February.

Join us at the Bricklayer’s Arms for the return of our legendary festival, featuring over 80 fantastic beers from the UK’s largest county. For a full list of the available beers, please click here.

Plus, once again we are holding our caption competition.

Burns Night Brews

Come and help us celebrate Burns’ Night at The Bricklayer’s Arms. We’ve a fabulous range of Scottish beers to enjoy. We’ll also be holding a poetry reading contest. Whoever can recite the following Burns’ poem in the best dialect and with a burning, passionate heart, will win a free pint of their choice. You don’t have to learn it by heart but anyone who does will be off to a great head start.

This is Spud, the Great Crested Grebe. He is the mascot for our Suffolk and Norfolk Beer festival in September. He will be appearing on the front of the festival programme.
