Our first ever Yorkshire
Beer Festival was held in February, featuring a wide variety of ales from the dales! See below for the range of beers that we brought down specially from England's Greatest County. And have a look in our photo gallery for pictures.
ABBEYDALE
Matins 3.6%
Very pale straw-coloured beer with herby aromas. The flavour is
pleasant and grassy with hints of green peppers and a moderate
bitterness. It has lots of body for its gravity and is a crisp, fresh
and clean tasting; an excellent session beer.
Absolution 5.3%
Mid-straw coloured beer with aromas of tropical fruit and
mangoes. The beer is sweet all the way through, balanced by some
bitterness at the finish. Flavours are fruity with toffee
Black Mass 6.66% – the A.B.V. of the Beast!
Very dark ruby ale with a rich creamy head. Aromas of dark
chocolate, coffee and burnt toast. Full bodied and warming with strong
flavours of bitter chocolate, fruitcake, raisins and hints of cherries.
A lingering bitter finish.
Last Rites 11%
Superbly strong and full-bodied ale which is very pale for its
strength. It has aromas full of toffee and caramel. The flavour is
smooth and sweet with warming alcohol and lots of toffee, candied peel
and dried citrus fruits. The beer is quite vinous with lots of depth
and lingering flavours. Dangerously more-ish.
BLACK SHEEP
Riggwelter 5.9%
The pick of the Black Sheep flock – a strong deep chestnut brown
beer with a rich near-white head and the aroma of freshly roasted
coffee. A wonderfully complex palate with hints of coffee, bananas and
liquorice leading to a classic Golding hop finish.
COPPER DRAGON
Golden Pippin 3.9%
A light refreshing blond ale breed using a new variety of hop, creating a citrus fruit flavour.
Scotts 1816 ABV 4.1%
A full bodied, flavoursome rounded ale with a distinctive hoppy palate and aroma.
Black Gold 3.7%
A recipe recreated from restored brewing records from the 1800’s.
The use of traditional coloured and roasted malts gives a unique rich
and luscious flavour.
DALESIDE
Blonde 3.9%
A refreshing, golden beer with a hoppy aroma and crisp palate.
Distinctive nose combined with delicate mouth feel and a subtle
aftertaste make this a wonderful quaffing beer.
Special 4.1%
A light
amber bitter. Floral, fruity aroma, nutty roast flavours, malty and
rich with a touch of sweetness. Smooth refreshing bitter finish. A
great all rounder.
Porter 4.4%
Daleside Porter is a premium quality Porter, distinctively dark in colour, full of body with a smooth velvet finish
EASTWOOD AND SAUNDERS
Beyond The Pale 4.2%
A pale golden bitter brewed with a touch of Amber Malt. Pronounced
floral hop aroma from the inclusion of North American Cascade hops and
a long, dry hoppy finish.
Porter 6.5%
International Award Winning Porter based around an original 1872
recipe, very dark and rich with a complex bittersweet palate and
luscious malt flavours with warming rich port notes that combine into
the subtle hoppy finish.

HAMBLETON
Stallion 4.2%
This premium bitter has a distinctly malty character with a hint of
nuttiness while the enhanced hopping rate recalls for many the good old
days of a true Yorkshire bitter.
KELHAM ISLAND
Pale Rider 5.2%
Pale Rider is a well balanced strong and fruity ale flavoured with North American Hops.
MARSTON MOOR
Brewer's Droop 5.0%
A pale, robust, ale with hops and fruit notes in prominence. A long,
bitter aftertaste."Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt,wheat
malt,crystal malt. Challenger and Styrian Goldings hops.
OSSETT
Excelsior 5.2%
Ossett’s strongest permanently available brew, Excelsior has a
mellow yet full flavour that develops into a fruity dryness. A fresh,
hoppy aroma with citrus, toffee and floral characteristics.
ROOSTER
YPA 4.3%
Raspberry aroma with long aromatic finish. Maris Otter malt, soft water and Challenger & Styrian hops.
Leghorn 4.3%
Made with 4 aroma hops. Tropical fruit/floral. Full tasting, well balanced. Maris Otter malt.
Roosters Yankee 4.3%
Rooster’s most popular beer. Aromas of lychees and tropical fruit. Maris Otter Malt and Cascade hops from the Yakima Valley USA
Roosters Cream 4.7%
Soft bitterness. Aromas of spice, peaches and apricot. Maris Otter Malt and liberty hops from the Yakima Valley USA
Roosters Hooligan 4.3%
Aromas of raspberry/peach/tangerine. Maris Otter Malt and hops from the USA & Slovenia.
WHARFDALE
Executioner ABV 4.5%
Brewed to an original 1950's recipe, using pale, crystal amber
malts. This gives Executioner a distinctive rich mahogany colour and a
smooth but complex roasted malt flavour, with just the right amount of
hop. Brimful of character this beer is dangerously drinkable
YORK BREWERY
Guzzler 3.6%
A well balanced, light beer with Pale Malt character. Crisp and refreshing.
Yorkshire Terrier 4.2%
A premium bitter with a rich, creamy malt and full hop palate finish.
Centurion's Ghost Ale 5.4%
A warming, dark bitter ale, with a roasted malt taste. Very easy to drink for its strength.
